Ms Danyya Ateera, now 24, chose to go public about her story this year, by publishing a book about her plight and her rocky road to recovery.

68岁投入志工行列的杨哲雄,6年来分别在仁武国小、仁武​​高中、仁武特殊教育学校及华山基金会服务,从幼童照顾到老人,几乎是全职志工。念国中的孙子杨东晨受他感召,跟着四处服务,这对祖孙档志工的身影,成为地方最美丽的身影。

To some of the workers at the Hunts Point Produce Market in the Bronx, it is a familiar sight: a nun or two darting around the concrete loading docks every Wednesday. Sister Elisabeth Anne, 76, has been making the weekly trip to the large industrial market for more than 35 years to pick up food for the older adults at the residence where she lives and works.

无私关怀 感动病患

林赛珠在1965年投身护士行业,并于1992年决定转往当时的板桥医院(现为心理卫生学院),照料患有心理疾病的病患。九年前,她又申请调往心理卫生学院刚成立的新部门,成为一名个案经理。

林赛珠(69岁)说,即使病患的病情改善,可以重返社会过正常生活,但看护服务不应就此中断。为此,她决定成为个案经理,从病人入院到出院,都和他们保持联系,了解他们的需要,成为他们的支柱。林赛珠从里到外都展现敬业乐业的精神。

Teammates of footballer Sonia Jhala – who lost her life in an earthquake in Sabah nearly six months ago – remember the 12-year-old as a hard worker on the pitch and a close confidante off it.

Yesterday, some 150 children took part in a charity soccer tournament organised by the English Football School (EFS) – where Sonia attended coaching sessions every Saturday for two years.
